This obscure and odd little biography is as readable as a novel and like most novels, it rarely cites sources, primary or otherwise. The authors don't hesitate to conjure up Willa Cather's thoughts and spoken words, along with those of countless northeasterners with whom she interacted during her thirty or so seasons spent in NH, ME, and NB. The reader is left to take it all on faith. And if one does choose to take that leap, it is a splendid little read.… (mehr)
