On the Road to Here is book two of the Avery & Angela series. I recommend you read The Last Good Day: Book One first to get the most from this one, although it could stand alone. We pick up the story a few months after book one ends. Avery & Angela are reunited after he ends his first semester at the music conservatory and she has finished a round of chemotherapy.

They go through the typical trials of a young couple in love, not the least of which is dealing with relatives during the holidays. At times the story is divinely innocent and sweet, yet the author does not sugar coat the harsh realities that creep into everyone’s life. They face her illness, his insecurities, temper, and ambitions with determination and humor. Will their love carry them through it all?

On the Road to Here is full of music references, guitars, family strife, tender moments and so much more.

Book Two ends with a surprising twist that has left me desperate for Book Three. I highly recommend this story for everyone, but especially for fans of music and love.

NCLA Review - This is not a book to sit down and read cover to cover. It is more a reference and research book, intended as an undergraduate college textbook, and at textbook prices. A majority of the 64 chapters are divided into “A walk through (name of the Biblical book),” critical issues and theological themes. Questions for review and discussion and further reading are included at the end of each chapter. I cannot see this as a book for the average church library. However, to be fair, that was not the authors’ intent. If you are looking for an addition to your reference section, or want to provide something for persons leading Bible studies, this would be an excellent (although somewhat pricey) addition. But what is the religion found in the Scrolls themselves? This book provides a much-needed assessment of several major aspects of the religion of the Dead Sea Scrolls in light of recent publications. Eight leading experts explore the concept of divinity in the Scrolls, the Scrolls' relation to important halakic issues, the question of Hellenistic influence in the Scrolls, and the apocalypticism and messianism specific to the Scrolls.NOTES: SUBTITLE: Studies in the Dead Sea Scrolls and Related Literature… (mehr)
