Good history on USSR not often available in the West...
2476 Seven Days That Shook the World, Text by Stuart Loory and Ann Imse (read 29 Nov 1992) This tells the story of the August 1991 coup in Russia, which is such a significant event. It is a journalistic put-together book, but it does tell a fascinating in depth story, though it is journalism, not history. The story is an astounding one, and I only hope it is permanently important, not just a false dawn. I worry a lot about the awful economic situation in Russia and surely wish it would improve so Communism doesn't return.… (mehr)
