An interesting collection of short fantasy/horror stories of Mexican authors. Due to the many different authors the quality of the stories varies. Some of them don't have any kind of comprehensible resolution, which is disturbing only if the stylistic value is minor. Most of those stories have specifics that make them genuinely Mexican, yet the popular topoi of horror and fantasy stories can be found in most of them. Several of the stories are very good, my favorite being "Murillo Park" by Agustín Cadena, which is of Borges-like mysteriousness. All in all, an interesting though uneven read and a journey into an unknown territory.… (mehr)
