This is amazing!! I am totally going to never read the first two volumes of the main series. This is the way that Aincrad was meant to be experienced. I am totally a huge fan and this completely lived up to my expectations. The only complaint I have is that the story "The First Day" from volume 8 leads directly into this but that isn't explained until the author's acknowledgement page at the very end of the book. So start there folks!

Finally got around to reading the light novel my favourite TV show is based on. If you have already seen the show, this first book does not hold any more secrets. Still, it is a brilliant young adult read. Definitely looking forward to continuing the series.

Now I've read up to volume 6.
I think the story feels weaker then the first 4 volumes. A little strained?
It's still interesting. But so far I would honestly recommend to stop at volume 4. (probably)

That said, I think I'm too far gone to stop reading until the series comes to an end.

I loved it so SO much.
Yes. I too was guided here by the anime.
I love both mediums! *beams proudly*
BTW I've read first through fourth novels - and I'm now a slave to this thing. And I don't even mind it!
