This is a lovely store in a lovely town. The owners of Pickwicks are easy to talk to and very kind, and the shop is clean and well-organized. It's cozy and a tiny bit cramped. There's a great mix of newer books and very old antique-y pieces. You can easily spend a couple of hours in here and never feel pressure or like they're looking over your shoulder, but they are great people to talk to if you're in the mood. They're very willing to negotiate a good price for you, too. One of the best things about Pickwicks is that the owners will seek out book-signings and conventions, so they have lots and lots of signed books for the same price. It's a little touch that adds a lot of personality to a book. The only thing that the store is lacking is a cafe, but there are plenty of places to get a drink in the area. I'd highly recommend making a day of it, heading to Pickwick's in the morning and getting lunch at one of the little restaurants around town. Great place for a first date, too! EDIT: After posting I realized I used the word "lovely" three times and decided to take it down a notch. How can you blame me, though, when that's far and away the best adjective to describe shopping here!
