Doesn't compare to the Dollanganger-series, not really, but still amusing enough. (V.A. is not a real virtuoso writer and her stories are a bit... bouquet-ish, but they still manage to make me curious for what's happening.) ( )
I am currently reading this novel. It is a little strange; but gives a different perception and some made up rules for what vampires are and how they behave and mingle in society. However the style of V.C Andrews stays true to the abandoned young adult on the cusp of becoming an adult and learning all the dark family secrets; starting off poor and being thrown into a world of privlege but great scandal. I finally finished the book. It was ok, If you like VC Andrews then you will like the style. I was let down by the twist though. It definately not a typical vampire book; but not in a good way. Just boring. ( )
My aunt loves V.C Andrews books and I just so happened to pick up this one. I didn't like this book so much. Some of the characters weren't strong enough to my liking. I rather them be week then 2 dimensional and to me that is a huge difference. My aunt said that she would give me the books that she has by this auther and I can wait. ( )
