Persephone, who works as a professional psychic, meets UFO expert and celebrity Paul, and they fall in love while being chased by alien-human hybrids, possessed humans and human collaborators. She has a spirit guide but there's a twist around that, and develops psychic super powers very conveniently though I imagine that's actually being channelled through her by the "spirit guide". There's a reset button about a major plot point. Quite light-hearted fluff and decently written but not something that interests me enough to read the rest of the series. I rate it an OK 2 stars. Space aliens using humans as their host, conspiracies to take over the human race, and psychic powers used as a weapon of destruction are recurring motifs in Christine Pope’s latest pop science fiction Bad Vibrations. Narrated in first person, the writing style is conversational and prone to going off on tangents causing readers to lose their focus on the central plot being an ad hoc group of people who hunt extraterrestrials intent on taking over the human race.

This was a very entertaining book. The plot was a bit weird and wacky for my taste, a combination of psychics and UFOs! But surprisingly, I liked it. It was exciting and intriguing and hilarious. The love story wasn't bad either. I was just irritated by their going to and fro different settings. If you're looking for an easy read then give this a try. ( )

Enjoyable science fiction/ romance.Being psychic is on thing but alien conspiracy, who would believe? Psychic to the stars (or really more to the people beind the stars), Persephone O'Brien has a faithful clientale. When one of her clients is murdered, Persephone finds her self mixed up with an alien plot and a handsome ex college professor. Whether fighting the bad guys or attraction to the handsome professor, Persephone thinks she may just have gotten in over her head. Nice way to spend an afternoon in the sun. ( )

I enjoyed this novel far more than I anticipated and would gladly read more from this author! This is not my typical read, so don't be afraid to try it out! The plot is rich in romance, action, and humour and will undoubtedly reel you in! ( )
