This one tells the story of Softie and Garry. Softie was a career woman with a nice apartment. Garry had a rough upbringing, had already had one failed marriage, and has no real job. He meets Softie and they spend some time together and get married. Sofitie is older and really wants a child and Garry agrees. She becomes pregnant and Matilda is born. Some time later the relationship runs into difficulties, Softie thinks having another child will help, and becomes pregnant but loses the baby. Soon after that she walks out taking Matilda with her and says that the marriage is over. The story of the book is the story of the struggle for custody of Matilda told through both their eyes. They both believe they can do the best job of bringing her up. We have a very good picture of both of them and it was a very good read. Kept me engrossed right till the end as I read to find out what would happen to Matilda the one person who did not have a say in the matter.. ( ) keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
A heart-breaking story of two warring parents in a child custody case- and the innocent little girl caught in the middle. A heart-breaking story of two warring parents in a child custody case - and the innocent little girl caught in the middle. Garry Hartshorn and Softie Monaghan were never love's young dream. Not even on their wedding day. Softie was sophisticated, a career woman, who owned a nice apartment overlooking St Kilda Beach. Garry had a few rough edges, plus one failed marriage and an assortment of jobs under his belt. But Softie's body clock was ticking, and Garry wanted children ... So they got married, and produced the only thing they ever had in common. Matilda. Now, two years later, their golden-haired child is at the centre of a bitter divorce and custody battle. Both parents insist that her well-being is the only thing they care about. Yet, in truth, Matilda was always the one most likely to become lost. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
