I purchased this book for my children about a year ago. We have tried to read it together atleast five or six times but unfortunately, we can't get past the first couple of pages. My five year old will not stop giggling from the moment I read the title and my eight year old is pretty grossed out by the illustrations. Too much detail on poop for my kids. I try to point out the storyline but there really isn't one. The information about the animal prints and scat is different and interesting but the characters do not seem real. Too much poop talk, not enough story for us.
One classroom extension would for students to make their own prints for a young group of students. Another idea would be for the older students to choose an animal discussed in the story and have them research that animal to present interesting facts. ( )
