First off, if you haven't read Existence or Predestined, then don't read this novella. Read those first and then read this. I loved this. It was a collection of scenes from Leif's point of view. Not an entire story, just various scenes that Leif was in from both Existence and Predestined. I admit, there were some scenes that I wasn't sure what they were at first, but that's probably because I read the books so long ago.
It felt like I was able to find out what happened behind the scenes, when we weren't with Pagan and Death, which was really cool. I definitely would recommend this to fans of the series, because it gives you more insight into the story and more insight into Leif's character. ( )

I wasn't so happy with this book. It hinted to a new interest but never followed through. I am hoping that there is a follow through book coming up. Having read the whole series, I love it but there are many lose ends. ( )

Always love hearing another characters POV.

In Existence, at first I thought Leif was sweet and just too nice and was thinking that Pagan was going to hurt him when she finally leaves him for Dank. But then I found out he was not human and was soulless to boot. So later in Predestined when Pagan kept being drawn in by his sweet human side I was freaking out she would forget he's soulless and has a possessive claim on her soul and be drawn to him. I couldn't understand how she could forget he's the Voodoo Prince and still fall for his tender side. It was not until the second time Leif took her to Vilokan and how afraid he was for her, that she might anger his father and he could lose her, that I learned that Pagan is a really good judge of character.

Reading Leif's story made me see that Pagan was correct when she believed he does have good in him. I'm still upset with him that it took him so long to realize that it doesn't matter how much you love someone you can't claim their heart OR soul if they don't return your feelings.

I'm curious to see if Leif's story will spin off into a series of his own and since I now know he does have redeeming qualities I would be psyched to read it. He and that Sabine character might have something there to explore. ( )

Now Leif 2.0 was an easy read because more than half the book were already known form Predestined. What Leif 2.5 gave was a small glimpse into his thoughts on the situation. How he'd sought assistance and eventually the decision that made the ending of Predestined. I will not give anything else away. Because it did some clarifying, I rate Leif 5/5 specs. With 3 Specs for Predestined, this evens out to a nice 4/5 specs.
Happy reading everyone! ( )

I have to say I liked getting in Leif's head! Before I was on the fence about Leif, and while I don't feel like he is the match for Pagan, I liked seeing that he wasn't heartless. Maybe he will find his happily ever after..just not with her! ( )
