The second half just jumped off the deep end. There was practically no mention until half way through about the paranormal aspects. There were a few funny jokes and a few offensive crass comments. Grace was odd. Mostly she felt kind of juvenile for a soul that's supposed to have lived hundreds of lives. Shane - well I get his the bad playboy but even when he tried to change Grace ignored it so seemed kind of annoying - they had a lot of stupid interactions. I kind of just wanted to bash their heads together and be done with it. Unless I missed something, Shane had the same ice blue eyes she was looking for so I didn't really understand why she never considered it might be him - especially since she basically took Blake at first sight for nothing more than the eyes - I mean he was mauling her in front of everyone - why would she think he'd be the innocent reserved soulmate of hers? Anyway I enjoyed parts of it I guess. Kind of annoyed about the cliffhanger because I want to know what happens but I don't think I can bring myself to buy and read the sequel. We'll see. The idea of a banished angel (well sort of) sentenced to roam eternity hoping to be reunited with her one true love is intriguing. Her long existence has been filled with lifetimes of loss and painful disappointment all while desperately hoping that she will find him again, The One. Then she meets Shane, who is not even close to being her true love but why does it feel so right to be near him? Should she give up hope of ever finding The One, and take a chance with Shane? "Please Grace, whatever it is that you're going after, please try to find it here in me." Shane.....swooon!! On to the sequel... This was an interesting book, I liked all the characters a whole lot. I thought the banter was good, I thought the plot was good. Really I liked the book a great deal, there were some issues for me though. Most of them really solidified in book 2. I got sick of how judgmental and condemning she was regarding Shane. I got really sick of her calling him "that kind of guy". I understand he was one, but still her refusing to believe a single word he said just bugged me. Also the grammatical errors were pretty horrific. It's very jarring reading along and finding these stumbling blocks of misplaced, and misused, words and phrases. Incorrect pronouns were used all over the place. I saw more than one him instead of he. But still, over all I really liked the book, and for once I really liked the best friend!!! The best friend actually was a good friend! She wasn't some fucking bimbo putting her bff in dangerous situations or pushing her friend into things that were harmful or just fucking stupid. This is actually the best best-friend character I've read in a while! Yep, I liked the book! Holy Moly I am still reeling over this book. You don't really know it's a paranormal romance until mid book. No Hot sex scenes but things are so intense between Grace and Shane you get knots in your stomach! The author really is amazing the way she makes you feel like you are right there with them especially in the bar when they are playing on stage you can't help but feel the fire that burns between Grace and Shane. I will tell you that you will want book 2 handy because the ending well it's a hanger! Pretty sure I will be up all night reading Saving Grace. Favorite quote: "he really was ridiculously beautiful" "Don't even try, because you might find me smacking the slut out of you in a minute!" "She is mortal danger to all men. She is beautiful with knowing it, and possesses charms that she's not even aware of." Read more reviews on my blog iloveladyporn.com keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

"I'm finally home after struggling through my brother's illness and death. But home is definitely a bit different. My best friend has a new boyfriend; and he has a friend. Shane Maxton: bad boy, tattooed rock god, eye candy extraordinaire. He is also New York City's most arrogant, self-serving, son of a, well, a definite one-night stand kind of a guy. it doesn't matter to me because I've spent my existence looking for the love of my life, my angel. And, there is nothing that Shane Maxton can do to change that."--Back cover. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
