This book was a riveting sequel. You must read my Familiar Stranger 1st. Following Ram & Elora this book followed Litha into even more dimensions.
"I don't think you believed me when I said I could be entertaining. I'm going to prove it." It had been a long time since a woman had tried to tell Storm what to do. Undoubtedly this was the first time he had ever been both pleased and amused to obey. After a minute passed he smiled and reached for her. "Well, it's not that looking at you without clothes on isn't entertaining. Because certainly it is, but, strictly speaking, I meant something more along the lines of..." She put her fingers to his lips to shush him and smiled. "Okay. Turn around now." He turned his head and his mouth dropped open of its own accord. Thousands upon thousands of fireflies hovered over the river and danced in the trees on the other side. They swooped, darted, and flitted. It was a spectacle that was magical beyond imagination. Storm laughed out loud, a sound so joyful and so rare it startled him, almost making him jump like a puppy with a grown dog's bark. In that moment, he realized he'd never felt that before - that special happiness that transcends life on earth taking you to a place in spirit called rapture. When he turned to look at Litha, there were fireflies encircling her, lighting her face. So that's what love looks like. When he thought about the fact that he might have missed this, might have missed out on loving Litha... Just a small excerpt from the book. Loved this book!!!! ( )

In the second book in the Knights of the Black Swan series, Engel Storm doesn’t know how to act around Elora and Ram, his fellow B Team members. They work together at The Order of the Black Swan—a military-type paranormal agency that fights supernatural creatures to protect the human public—and serve together on the elite B Team along with their buddy Kay. Storm believes he’s in love with Elora, but she chose Ram instead a few months earlier. Now it’s time for Elora and Ram’s wedding, and Storm is the best man. Though B Team typically works in the New York area, they temporarily transfer to Edinburgh for assignment. Storm meets an unusual woman there, but he’s so distraught over losing Elora, he cannot see Litha for the wonderful person she is.
Litha Brandywine falls in love with Storm at first sight. Even though they share the same hopes for the future, he refuses to give her chance. She’s a powerful witch with secrets she’s determined to keep hidden, but everything changes when she trades herself for the captive in a hostage situation. Though she and Storm are separated, all her questions about her abilities are finally answered.
Storm and Litha are interesting characters. Since he was often rude and mean to Litha (he’s still healing from a broken heart), there wasn’t much romance between them until the end of the story.
The book is supposed to be Storm and Litha’s love story, but a big chunk of the book focused on Elora and Ram, and a smaller chunk on Kay and his fiancée Katrina. While I enjoyed those scenes, I would’ve preferred more one-on-one time with Storm and Litha.
Baka the now-cured vampire and Deliverance the demon were my favorite characters. There’s definitely something going on between Baka and Heaven, an employee for The Order. Deliverance is one yummy incubus who’s not as bad as he first seems.
As with the previous book, there are multiple subplots going on with multiple characters. The POV shifts were all over the place. The scenery and character descriptions were extremely detailed and verbose. I enjoyed the world building and the depth of B Team’s friendship, so I’m looking forward to reading the next book.

This is a really well written, steamy novel with absolutely loveable characters and an ending that wraps things up nicely. Finally a super happy ending/beginning for Storm!! What more could you ask for? ( )

So Engel Storm finally gets his...a very provocative witch named Litha. But he doesn't want her, no way, no how, no form. How will she break down the walls he's so carefully constructed because of the heartache he's endured? Patience and a little help from his team of vampire slayer friends. Once again, we meet up with Elora, Ram, Storm, and Kay and their adventures as Bad Company, an elite paramilitary group founded to hunt vampires. The only thing is, the vampire population is dwindling because of a cure that was made with the help from their resident alien traveler Elora. So the team is on hiatus for Elora and Ram's handfasting when Kay's fiance is abducted by a demon out for revenge. The only two able to help save her after Kay turns berserker, is Storm and Litha, the witch tracker. And with the close encounters of the two, will Storm finally give up his infatuation with Elora and realize that his two best friends were meant for each other, and seek out the one woman who shares everything with him.
Victoria Danann has done it again. What a great sequel to what's turning out to be an even greater series. Once again, we follow the characters and meet new ones. Each has their own personalities and we want so very much to see how they fare. Cannont wait to read the next. ( )
