I didn't like this book. The writing was generally OK (although I saw several places where there were missing commas), but I didn't like the story or the way it was told. ( )Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Member Giveaways geschrieben. The title character of this story is a young boy called Mr. Mushh. According to the first page of the story it means Mr.Mighty Understanding Super Helper of Humanity He's a small guy who becomes a "Super-Helper", tall, big and muscular. When any of his friends gets into big trouble or danger. His friend Little Missy owns a food shop and one night a man comes into the shop and robs her. Mr. Mushh sees this and knows Little Missy is in Big Trouble. So he says the word SHUMM and becomes 10 feet tall and super strong. He goes after the robber, captures his and hands him over to the police. I found the story drawn out and I wasn't quite sure what age child this book was geared to. The illustrations in the book are digital and some could be scarey to a young child. At the end of the story was a section of questions and answers which didn't make sense to me. What child would care why french bread is long and skinny or what New York cheesecake is. This book is number one in a series. Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Member Giveaways geschrieben. Good tale for 6-10 year olds. Mr. Mushh is a superhero in disguise. No one recognizes him but when trouble comes he helps fix the problem. There is humor here as well as lessons. I enjoyed the story. I liked how Rosemary Miller taught what 911 operators do and how they help the police and the police help in an emergency. I liked that she showed how people became friends and how friends help one another. The pictures seemed to be a cross between photographs and computer generated but they fit the story. I enjoyed it and cannot wait for the further adventures of Mr. Mushh. Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Member Giveaways geschrieben. My feelings on this book are mixed. I believe it would make a great teaching book for ages 3-6 years. It even has a question and answer section in the back. My big problem with it is that it has the main character, Mr. .Mushh, who is as far as most people know is a normal Joe chase an armed robber. The police are called but I do feel it stresses yourself in danger. That why the 3 stars. Zeige 4 von 4 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
Mr. Mushh loves to go on adventures with his friends. Normally, Mr. Mushh is just a little guy. But there is a secret about Mr. Mushh that makes him very special. When Mr. Mushh has a friend who gets into BIG-TIME trouble, who really needs help right away, suddenly......IT happens. Mr. Mushh goes SHUMM!! And just like that (snap!) he is a Super-Helper and he can help anyone out of any kind of trouble any time. No problem! When the danger has passed and his friend is safe, Mr. Mushh has a big smile on his face and his big heart is happy again. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
