We meet Mario, his younger brother, and neighbor Ivy in 1944. The Manzetti boys have just moved into the neighborhood, right across from the graveyard, and discover their basement has a trap door. When the kids go down to explore only two come back.
Decades later, Mario's son and his family, including grandson Kenny, move into the house to care for him. Mario has spent his life talking about zombies, a weird quirk that he's passing on to Kenny, who now believes zombies exist.
Another Most Wanted that has more character development than you'd expect from a Goosebumps. ( )

An interesting read although I don't particularly care for the zombie craze now happening. Humorous in parts but it could be a bit scary for younger readers. I enjoyed the zombie patrol and the twist at the end, but that would be telling.

4th - 6th grade enjoyment ( )

The Goosebumps series would be better for the older grades, since they're long chapter books. All of them are Sci-Fri related and a lot of people believe the zombie apocalypse could happen someday.

This is a decent zombie book written by RL Stine. It is a bit gory, so if your kid is squeamish I wouldn't let them read this particular Goosebumps.

A brother and sister live in a "haunted" house, and are planning a Halloween party to get to know the neighbors. A new family moves in, and the movers put in three coffins in the house. The kids automatically think zombies for some reason. I thought that was odd, since coffins are obviously another monster! I won't spoil it, since the ending and all...

So the news has features of people saying they saw real zombies, and of course since it's so close to Halloween no one believes it. The brother and sister's grandpa seems crazy, obsessed with zombies. The kids make a Zombie Patrol and find real zombies...

Overall this book was good, but I want to point out it started in 1944 with the grandpa and zombies back then were voodoo zombies, not flesh eaters. Just a nitpick! The book was quite humorous as RL Stine is a good kid's writer. I would say if your kid likes zombies, go ahead with this one. ( )
