This book is a great book for teaching children the alphabet but also to identify animals. The book is interactive in that it's a picture search book. This was one of my childhood favorites and I can still remember loving the picture search! It's a winning combination between interactive learning and a great picture book. ( )

Great book! This is one of my favorite books from my childhood. The author and illustrator, Demi, embeds each letter of the alphabet on a page filled with ellaborate animal art. Next to each letter of the alphabet is a unique looking animal which the children must find on the page. It is extra special because each animal that if represented by a letter is decorated with many little drawings of itself. Among these small animals inside the larger, the child must find the specific animal that is indicated next to each alphabet letter. the colors and images are great! I would use this in a pre-k trough 3rd grade class room. in a classroom i would use this book to:
-teach children the letters of the alphabet
-link letters with pictures and sounds
-work on fine motor while looking for animals
-look at the book purely for the art. think about the different animals
-act out the different animals
