Interesting book for reading to the kids but not so interesting to hold my grandson's attention. ( ) I enjoyed reading "Dinosaurs From Head to Tail" for three reasons. First, I enjoyed that the book was very informational. The book includes a variety of different dinosaurs and includes facts about them (a tyrannosaurus has a jaw full of 50-60 sharp teeth made for chomping flesh and bones)! Second, I enjoyed how before each dinosaur was exposed, the author would put a clue on the previous page (the author may say "what dinosaur had claws like this"? Then there would be a illustration of a claw. On the next page would be the name of the dinosaurs and some facts about it). Third, the illustrations made me laugh. Although the book is about dinosaurs, the illustrations are far from realistic or scary. The illustrations hardly look like dinosaurs at all. "Dinosaurs From Head to Tail" is an informational text about 8 different types of dinosaurs. In the back of the text, there is a small section with a little description of other dinosaurs. The big idea behind the text is to provide factual information of dinosaurs. This is a children's informational text based on the illustrations and text provided. Read all my reviews on http://urlphantomhive.booklikes.com I simply love dinosaurs. There, I said it. So every time I come across a dinosaur book, I just have to read it. And this one was lovely for young children. I believe this will really encourage them to become little palaeontologists and love dinosaurs as much as I do. With colourful drawings and some facts about each dinosaur. Would recommend. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. "Dinosaurs from Head to Tail" by Stacy Roderick is an informative book that asks questions about a specific dinosaur for the the reader to guess. The book goes on to the next page to give further explanation of the type of dinosaur and facts about its life. I think this book would be great for dinosaur enthused students who are fascinated with dinosaurs. The last page of the book is filled with other dinosaurs that were not featured in the book. The book features eight different dinosaurs and special characteristics each dinosaur has. In my opinion, this is a great book. The three things I like about this book are the illustrations, the patterned language, and the way the book is organized. First, I think the illustrations perfectly match the mood of the book. Although it is an informational book about dinosaurs, there is still a playful aspect to it to engage young readers. The illustrations go along with this playful mood because they resemble a child’s craft or collaged papers. For example, the Tyrannosaurus page looks like it was made out of cut construction paper and collaged together. I also enjoyed the patterned language in the book. Every other page had a similar question on it such as “ What dinosaur had jaws like this?” or “What dinosaur had a head like this?” I like this because I think it familiarizes the reader with certain words such as dinosaur. Finally, I like the way this book was organized. After the question page, the next page has the full dinosaur on it with a description and pronunciation. It talks more about characteristics of each one. The last page is titled, “Other Awesome Dinosaurs”, and describes other ones not mentioned in the book. Overall, I think the main idea is to inform readers about the different types of dinosaurs. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
