Sometimes You Can Go Home Again . . .
After an overseas mission goes wrong, Army Special Forces officer Jacob Kincaid knows where he must go to make things right: back home to the tiny town of Cedar Ridge, Colorado. All he needs to scrub away his painful past is fresh mountain air, a lakeside cabin, and quiet solitude. But what he discovers is a gorgeous woman living on a boat at his dock.
Sophie Marren has nowhere else to go. She's broke, intermittently seasick, and fighting a serious attraction to the brooding, dishy, I'm-too-sexy-for-myself guy who's now claiming her dock. Something about Jacob's dark intensity makes her want to tease-and tempt-him beyond measure. Neither one wants to give any ground . . . until they realize the only true home they have is with each other.

Another stellar book by Jill Shalvis. In this third of the Cedar Ridge series, we finally meet Jacob Kincaid, the twin who ran away to play GI Joe, away from his family and the twin who disowned him for leaving. Yep, that's gonna leave a mark on someone.

Enter Sophie. Fiery redhead, complete with the temperament. Divorced from a lying, cheating man everyone loves to hate, her spark and determination lights a fire inside Jacob. As usual in a Jill Shalvis novel, the chemistry is incendiary, their awareness of each other despite their brokenness and resolve not to become attached pulls them together. Two extremely damaged people who find healing through each other. I love how Ms. Shalvis shows human spirit, two people who have been through emotional hell and stand tall to reclaim their lives. Jacob may be my favorite of the Kincaids.

The end took a turn I wasn't expecting. I'd half expected Sophie to sell the boat and buy the down-on-its-luck resort, but the machinations of the "karma seeker" worked so much better, even if it was a 180 for that character.

For fans of Jill Shalvis, this is another keeper. ( )

Sophie Marren has had enough with her ex. She left him, and took his boat. She is exhausted and incredibly seasick when she docks her boat. She is more than annoyed with she is told, more than once, to either get a permit or to move her boat. Jacob Kincaid is the man telling Sophie what to do. It is his dock in the town of Cedar Ridge and her boat does not belong there.

Jacob has just returned home after many years away. He did not leave on good terms. In fact, he and is twin brother Hudson never thought they'd speak again. Jacob is in the Army Special Forces and he has just experienced a difficult mission. Perhaps it is time for him to make matters right with his family.

One person he really must see is is mother. She has dementia and Jacob knows he needs to spend time with her. Also, Jacob has all but lost his once close bond to his twin and he is desperate to get that back. One thing Jacob does not have time for is his bone-deep attraction to this quiet, sexy woman who, for some reason, simply will not move her boat.

Nobody But You is the third book in the Cedar Ridge series by Jill Shalvis. I have fallen in love with the Kincaid family. Each story has been absolutely endearing and I love the conflicts they presented. In the case of Sophie and Jacob, they certainly had their challenges, but it was always clear that they were perfect for each other.

Although this is the first time in years I have read anything by this author, I love the "coming home" feeling that her books produce. She is extremely prolific and has written multiple series. I love keeping her books on my radar. ( )

Jacob is an Army Special Forces officer home on leave. Returning to his family to work through his grief and reconnect with his family. Sophie is out of sorts recovering from her divorce from her cheating no good ex. She's sweet and feisty, to his closed off but they find themselves attracted to each other as they both try to protect their hearts. Some great funny moments.

I am not as familiar with author Jill Shalvis' work as I'd like but that is about to change. Thank you NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for approving my request. Nobody But You introduces Sophie and Jacob. These two people have been through hell and back individually but circumstances put them within each others path when each needs friendship and a helping hand. There are some authors that take forever to get the ball rolling and needlessly drag out a story, Ms. Shalvis gets right to the point. Nobody But You is a story that needed to be told. Through the hard times two broken people found something special. Life is not always pretty, love is never easy but finding happiness makes it all worth it in the end. ( )

First thing first, Kenna doesn't get her own story?!?

Overall, meh. Sexy, understanding, funny, and a little bit clueless hero with life falling apart, sexy, and a bit wack-a-doodle heroine. They meet-cute, lust, misunderstand, and fall in love. It's Shalvis good but oh boy is my closet overflowing with the done there t-shirts I have from this author. I hope the Heartbreaker series has a bit more individuality or spark...or Lucky Harbor Sheriff Sawyer, I can always take more Sawyer. ( )
