- Short Summary of the Plot: The books begins with the man in the yellow hat and curious George going to a pancake breakfast fundraiser for programs at the children’s hospital, they also had games. The man with the yellow hat went to go buy the tickets at the end of the mayor’s speech, and George began wandering even though he was supposed to stay put. George found a man working the griddle making the pancakes, and he was so busy he didn’t even notice that George was putting blueberries on top of them while they were cooking. The man left to go get help because there was a big line, and George ended up taking over making them and putting syrup on them. The man came back with his assistant, and they yelled at George for making the pancakes and chased him away. George hid somewhere and was covered in syrup. He tried getting the syrup off with napkins, but they stuck to him, so he climbed into the dunk tank to wash off. The mayor came by and thanked George for his help and asked him to come again next year to make the pancakes, of course he agreed.

- My response: I enjoyed this book because it teaches kids about being helpful, however what I did not like was that the people chased George away and did not apologize for it.

This was a simple little book about George who helps makes pancakes at this charity thing. At first he notice the pancakes and adds in some berries and what not. Then, he is called to action! I think the would be a good book for the beginning of the year to show friends how to be helpful. ( )
