When her cop father dies in the line of duty, Quinn Callahan returns from New York to her hometown of Shady Springs, Missouri, to live with her aunt. Unfortunately, Shady Springs holds nothing but pain for Quinn, whose mother allegedly murdered Quinn's popular best friend Emma before killing herself, leaving Quinn a bullied outcast at her upscale prep school. After almost four years away, Quinn finds she is still a pariah at Harrandale Preparatory Academy. And Emma's twin brother Evan remains indifferent to her, which is more painful than any punishment her classmates dish out. Determined to clear her mother's name, Quinn begins re-investigating Emma's death with the help of some new friends and-eventually-Evan. But will Quinn and Evan be able to live with what they learn about their families in the process?… (mehr)

Quinn Invisible is a heart wrenching suspense about a young girl who has lost her best friend and mother in what the world believes is a murder suicide. This one incident changes Quinn’s life as she must live with all the repercussions such as the loss of her first love, becoming a pariah at her elite school and her father losing his job as he continues to investigate. Then, another suicide right before Christmas forces Quinn and her father to leave the only home they know for New York. Quinn and her father, who is a police officer, live there for four years until he is killed on the job. Now Quinn must return to her hometown and ultimately the prestigious school she once attended. Seeing that people are more unforgiving than ever, Quinn is determined to uncover what really happen four years ago. And with the help of some new friends and surprisingly an old friend, she just might succeed.

I received an ARC for honest review librarything. Poor Quinn, that poor girl just could not get a break. It was great for her to find friends in Seti and Hal, I am glad she truly needed that. I get that Evan lost both his twin sister which is tragic and from my understanding uncomparable, and then to lose his mom, also horrible so I guess that should make it OK for him to become a manwhore? At such age, really, I mean I don't think it is OK in any age, but dang he was a teen and young, I will never understand that. I truly didn't want Quinn with him, she was too good for him, and til the end, you really didn't know where he stood. Which actually makes it a good book, wondering, the whole time. I will read second installment, I want to know, what happens next. ( )

This book reminds me of a race...you start reading and a gun goes off, forcing you as the reader along a high pace path. You can't seem to slow down or catch your breath at many places before the book sucks you back in. It is that intense and that intriguing.
You, as the reader, are left with so many questions just within the first few pages. As more pages are read, you become more engrossed and see how much risk Quinn is willing to take to find out what really happened with her mother. As the stakes build and more people help her, the flames are driven higher until you wonder: what will be left- the truth or just the remains of those trying to find out the truth? Is the truth even worth it?
I couldn't stop reading this book as soon as I began. It had that much hold on me. I can't recall a book that I enjoyed as much recently that had so many different elements-mystery, drama, etc. This is a must read! ( )

The story begins in New York with the protagonist Quinn learning her father, a cop, was killed in the line of duty. She is forced to return home to Shady Springs, Missouri to live with her aunt Maureen. Quinn and her father left Shady Springs years ago after her mother murdered her best friend, Emma, and then killed herself. Or at least that is what everyone believes but Quinn isn't so sure. With the help of her new friends, Seti and Hal, Quinn attempts to clear her mothers name while trying to deal with romantic feelings towards Emma's twin brother Evan. Overall a well-written and engaging story that leaves you on the edge of your seat wanting more. ( )

First I would like to thank Amy Martin for providing me a free copy of Quinn Invisible for an honest review.

I recommend this for all YA readers!

My rating is 3 stars.

I liked this book and the story line was good. The book came to a crawl when Quinn moved back to Shady Springs. It is as if she was all over the place, nothing gets to a point…The book picks up again at 43% and then crawl again at 70%...wow, and the ending was unexpected! I would definitely read Quinn #2. Left me with a kind off cliff hanger at the end.

I liked Quinn’s character. She’s a tell-it-to-your-face type of teenager. When her dad is killed the line of duty, Quinn moves back to Shady Springs to live with her aunt, Maureen. There she, with her two friends, Seti & Hall, start investigate the murders of her mother and Emma, her best friend, that happened there four years ago. It's a great ride from start to finish.

If you like YA mystery, thriller, drama and romance this one is definitely for you.
Despite my 3 stars, I would love to read more of Amy Martins books. ( )
