Better than the Walking Dead.

The first volume reads like a slice-of-life backstory of a Dead Rising psychopath, but then volume two kicks in and I’m like “Holy shit!” Mitani honestly made Hideo look like a straight man. It was a slow burner that paid off really well, that train scene where Hideo’s stressing the fuck out while the rest of the passengers are going on with their day like nothing’s happening was absolute FIRE! (♥ヮ♥) I’ve never related so hard with the main character of a zombie apocalypse like this, and that’s mostly because they never had an actual backstory. My only problems that I have with it so far is that it feels sort of directionless; he left pretty much everything behind and now I don’t know where the manga’s gonna go from there.

It’s really good, I’m reading more from this series 。◕‿◕。 ( )

If you're looking for a comic book about Zombies, you have to have a lot of patience. So much boring crap. What would be better is an extremely edited version of this thing. 264 fucking chapters! ( )

I really liked it at the beginning! I loved the low key story of a kind of scruffy work-a-day guy with dreams getting caught in the middle of a viral outbreak. He's the only one he knows with a gun, knows how to use it and knows he has the opportunity to be a hero at a time of great need. He spends a lot of time psyching himself up because he's not a hero-type.

In the first part of the manga we see his struggle to save people and become the best he can be, even getting past his mistakes. He makes friends, finds other weapons, loosens up his terse grasp on the rules and laws and helps a lot of people.

Then if falls apart near the end. It got confusing, more confusing and then it just ended. There was no real climax or resolution.

I gave it the four stars because of the beginning. That part was awesome!

There are a ton of spinoff mangas. I'll probably read them in the future. It's really good series and it's fun. ( )
