Early county plat book always listed the local trades in the quaint little grid maps of towns and villages…What is amazing about those maps is how many craft shops there were in every little community. Out of all of the early trades, the hand tools of the Leather Worker and allied trades were made in the most amazing and elegant array of form and function design…To look at the tools and identify them, then practice their use requires a guide like Salaman’s work…then lots of practice…
