I thought the "celebrity cameos" (so to speak) were tastefully done. I have enjoyed every novel of this series that I have read, so when I saw that the finale was available for review I jumped at the chance to read it. I thought I had read everything she had published to date. It turns out that I missed reading book five, which worried me. Would I understand what is happening? Would I be able to pick up the story again after so long away? And just how was this book going to connect the prequels (books three and four) with the first two books in the series? So many questions but all I could do was dive in and see how it would go. I need not have worried. Like the previous four books I did read, Ms. Young makes these almost stand-alone books in a larger series. She includes enough details from the previous novel to refresh your memory and/or clue you in to what you missed. The worlds from one book to the next are not drastically different. The Complication is in the world after The Program with yet another couple doomed to forget each other. Yet, as always, there is more than meets the eye happening here, and Tatum and Wes are left to uncover exactly where the truth lies. Even though I liken these to stand-alone novels set in the same world, there is no doubt that this is a series with a beginning, a middle, and an end. Ms. Young cleverly hides this in the order in which she told her story, but the truth becomes obvious as worlds collide in The Complication with the return of key characters and others you may have thought were minor ones. This is probably my favorite aspect of The Complication, where we can finally see how the whole story ties together. It does not disappoint either. Ms. Young does an excellent job connecting the dots, bringing back previous clues, and putting them all together to leave readers with a satisfactory ending to an outstanding series. It also makes me want to go back and read the books in chronological order now to see those connections with hindsight as my guide. Zeige 2 von 2 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
