This is a book that parents should read when your three year old is whining about wanting MOAR screen time, before they hand the child an ipad to keep them busy so they can have a break. We need real babysitters, real playdates, and real breaks - too many parents get sucked into letting our kids have lots of 'screen time' because we don't end up at the emergency room that way! However, this book goes through - really clearly, it's a bit scary- all the reasons to keep your kids off screens. (It doesn't, however, offer to babysit your kids when you've been up half the night with the baby and now the three year old is tearing up the house, but you can't keep your eyes open). (
