Junji Ito puts his own minor spin on it that I know fans of the older story will appreciate. It comes equipped with a few other stories too after Frankenstein. The Oshikiri Tales are fairly alright, but maybe a bit much to keep up with if you find stories about parallel dimensions overwhelming. The story "Pen Pal" was particularly memorable, even if it did have strange 'closure'. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

"Junji Ito meets Mary Shelley! The master of horror manga bends all his skill into bringing the anguished and solitary monster--and the fouler beast who created him--to life with the brilliantly detailed chiaroscuro he is known for. Also included are six tales of Oshikiri--a high school student who lives in a decaying mansion connected to a haunted parallel world. Uncanny doppelgangers, unfortunately murdered friends, and a whole lot more are in store for him. Bonus: The Ito family dog! Thrill to the adventures of Non-non Ito, an adorable Maltese!"-- Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

The second half of the book is a collection of short stories, primarily centered around a character named Toru Oshikiri. Oshikiri is a teen who struggles to fit in because of his height and boyish appearance. He also happens to live alone in a house that acts as a portal to alternate dimensions. Nothing like dealing with teenage angst and your alter ego being out to kill you and your friends!
Overall I enjoyed this one - the Frankenstein part of the book was my favorite. ( )
