I was initially interested in this because I loved A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor and because the fact that the three men in this book were already in a polyam relationship was refreshing. I don't read much of this subset of polyam romance because I'm always sad that the men are kind of competing for the heroine's attention. (They are often so so straight.) But this was just... boring. Cornell Collins of course does a great job and the sex scenes are hot, but it felt a lot like a series of scenes and not a cohesive narrative. Even Collins as audio narrator (for male POVs only) couldn't save it. I'll still check out more of Kathryn Moon's stuff in the future, but I couldn't convince myself to spend any more time with this one. Zeige 2 von 2 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

From her first step onto Canderfey University's campus, Joanna Wick, the new librarian-in-training, is overwhelmed by the bustle of people and the wealth of magical information now available to her. Most overwhelming of all, she attracts the attention of three handsome professors. But Aiden King, Callum Pike, and Isaac Metclaffe are a coven waiting to find their fourth and complete their home, and Joanna knows she can't be that witch. She's barely magical. Aiden has been waiting twenty years to complete his coven. Callum doesn't want to disappoint his covenmates by turning down another potential fourth. Isaac has found a home with them both and only wants the best for his lovers. Have they found what they've all been waiting for in the skittish new hire at the university library? Contains mature themes. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

And it's really pretty good. It starts off a little slow, but I'm used to that in a fantasy. The world-building is good, giving a real feel to the college campus. And the characters are unique and interesting. I didn't mind the insta-love since the idea is this is a coven looking for their fourth member (and they have been for over ten years).
The biggest surprise is the fantasy elements. Yes, there are some explicit sex scenes but the fantasy story is very good. Joanna's insistence that she isn't very powerful and how she grows into her unique abilities with the help of her coven is very intriguing. The other covens are also fun with some interesting members.
It's a short story but I definitely want more of this special world with its different magic system. While I especially like Isaac, I want to see more of Aiden, Callum, and the others inhabiting Candlewyck. ( )
