It was a really quick read and it held my attention. However; there were some things I was just over as I was reading. This is definitely an unrealistic mystery. Some of the things did not add up for teens in high school. I still wanted to see how everything would unfold and why it was all happening in the first place though. Let’s talk about the body shaming in this book. This deals A LOT with body image. Every other paragraph is Fiona talking about how fat she is or body shaming herself. I do like that the boys still liked her and did not see her in the same light, but it was so overdone! It was too much! It could have been effective if it was toned down a little. I do think it hits the mark on how some teenagers may feel, but it almost overtook other parts of the story. Overall, it was good but did not blow me away. "Something made him angry that night. Something made her cry. Something made Trixie disappear. What if it was all the same thing? Fiona claims she doesn't remember anything about the night her best friend left a party early and walked into the ocean. But the truth is, she wishes she could forget. Trixie's disappearance is ruled a suicide, but Fiona starts to believe that Trixie isn't really dead. Piecing together the trail of a girl who doesn't want to be found leads her to Jasper, Trixie's former friend with benefits, and Beau--the boy who turned Fiona down, who loved someone else, who might be happy Trixie is gone. The closer Fiona gets to finding out what happened, and the closer she gets to Jasper and Beau, the more she realizes that the girl she knew better than anyone may have been a carefully constructed lie--and she might have been waiting to disappear the entire time. Told in alternating chapters between the past and the present, Last Girl Lied To is a gripping emotional thriller."--Amazon. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

I liked the main character and the mystery. The ending kind of killed it for me.
The twists were great— the things in-between got a little draggy, but I liked the realness and emotion this book brought. ( )
