Remi Ford's return to Mackinac Island doesn't go unnoticed for long, so when Brick Callan finds out she is back, he is determined to not let her get under his skin. It isn't long, though, before he realizes that Remi is in trouble and hiding it from everyone. He is determined to find out what's wrong, fix it for her as he has always done, and then let her go. Remi has become a successful artist and is in hiding over something that happened in Chicago with her friend, Camille. She would never ask Brick for help, but their combustible relationship might make him impossible to ignore.

Forever Never is two stories for the price of one. The first part of the novel builds the relationship between Remi and Brick, which is filled with humor, sweet yearning, and lots of angst. The last part deals with the suspense and most of the action in the story. They are equally successful, but a bit too long. The protagonists are likable - quirky Remi and straight-laced Brick. Both have very satisfying story arcs and backstories filled with supporting characters who could have books of their own. Overall, Forever Never is an enjoyable and quick read despite its length, but it just doesn't quite rise to the level of a 5 star novel. ( )

Different than I was expecting. I was expecting more of the humor that I have come to expect from this author. However, saying that, it doesn't mean that this wasn't still good. It was a slow burn until it wasn't. Once the slow beginning was over it heated up.

It was not my favorite from this author but it was enjoyable. ( )
