I love the friendship that Tabitha, Laila and Alexis have with each other and I love how their relationship evolved throughout this story. They have each other no matter what and they are open and honest with each other about their needs. This book made me cry a couple of times and I can't wait to read the next book in the series, I already have a hold placed at the library! ( ) In this sequel, Tabby is pregnant and now it's time to tell Marc, her former boyfriend, that it's not his child. But she also has to deal with trouble at the TV station when viewers complain about her switch from processed straight hair to her natural curls. Tabby has a lot of feelings to sort through in this novel. Not a very compelling story for me since it focuses on pregnancy and childbirth. On the plus side this novel is easy to read and moves at a rapid pace. But, there are many negatives that drove me crazy. The main character (though she has a fluid interesting domestic life) seems totally obseessed with her hair. She is a Black television reporter that decides to go "Natural" with her hair. Her boss warns her that some of the viewers don't like the new look. This is the main plot line of rest of the book which is very shallow to me. Also Allen's contant practice of starting dialogue with "GIRL" drove me nuts. A very frivolous read. Zeige 3 von 3 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
