This book is a great mystery/thriller. Creepy at times and a little complex, but very fun it you like scary stuff! It has some good historical-type content as well. ( )

I was very excited to read this book. Unfortunately that excitement died within the first chapter, where the author provided a true example of telling rather than showing.

In the succeeding chapters, telling continued to be the rule rather than the exception. In addition, the individual characters were two-dimensional, with no feeling of connection between any of them. The lead up to the final confrontation was both slow and boring. To give credit where it's due, that final confrontation was both gross and gripping. However, that does not excuse the faults of the book as a whole.

I love this genre, and I love this book! It is so suspenseful and exciting. I love a good ghost story and this book fits the bill. ( )
