Ever since I watched and read Heartstopper the algorithm recommends romance novels featuring gay men to me which is how this book, which is in the middle of a series, ended up in front of me. Usually seeing a book in the middle like this would send me back to book 1 but this is essentially a romance between a nicer version of Jamie Tartt and Roy Kent and I just couldn’t resist. It’s pretty over the top in a lot of ways but interesting because these characters have issues that are a little more real than the typical silly misunderstandings of a romance and it sounds like most of the lead characters in the series have leads that have physical disabilities, some mental health challenges (like Oliver in this book who has anxiety and panic attacks), and others who are neurodivergent. But mostly this is gay Roy Kent fan fic and that was fine by me. Thank you to NetGalley and Chloe Liese for this ARC. I absolutely loved this book. It was everything I wanted and more. The representation and depth were precisely what I expected from Chloe, and she did not disappoint. I wanted to give them both a big hug so many times! This was a very accurate representation of anxiety that is rare to see in this genre of romance. The confusion about who the siblings are is hilarious and I always love Viggo’s antics. His relationship with Ziggy is adorable and heartwarming. I like that we saw an insight into the remained siblings and some of their struggles, helping set up their books. I miss the Bergman parents; they were mentioned but had little actual interaction. I want a parent story! Just a little one! Please? Overall, a 5-star read and left me begging for more! Can’t wait for book 6! I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review. *SPOILERS BELOW* We got two Bergman weddings!!! What a treat. I love Linnea so much and her relationship with Ollie is amazing. Who shall have kids next? The Bergmans are always up to something. I love the coach and the poker buddies! I wish we had seen him tell Gavin he knows Willa. It was heartbreaking watching Gavin lose his ability to play. The jump around with the injury was a little confusing TBH. Like I missed a segway or something but that might have been from tears. Is Gavin coaching the team? Again, so confused about all that. Oh! why no reviews of this book? Is it brand new? ... It was released by Audible in June last year (2022), narrated by Tim Paige. I've read another book in this Bergman series and it was equally DELIGHTFUL - a word I don't use willy nilly to describe Everything For You! It exactly describes this book. Nothing much profound here - except that Gavin emerges from his shell under the influence of the helpful ministrations of our sunny hero, Oliver Bergman. This summary from the cover blurb is really all you need to know: Everything for You is a grumpy-sunshine, enemies-with-benefits, age gap sports romance about an upbeat rising soccer star with anxiety and his curmudgeonly veteran teammate who lives with chronic pain. Complete with nosy senior citizens, nosier siblings, and a meddling coach, this standalone slow burn is the fifth in a series of novels about a Swedish-American family of five brothers, two sisters, and their wild adventures as they each find happily ever after. Oct 2023 - Re-listened to this. It is just as delightful the second time, though not quite enough happens. And I don't find Gavin as adorable as Oliver seems to, since he's so grumpy 90% of the time. It's a shame that Tim Paige had to read both Gavin and Oliver's parts. At times I got mixed up as to who was talking as that narrator didn't change his voice much. However, as usual, Tim Paige is very easy to listen to. Note to self: When I did a search to see if I'd read this book before, I didn't think I had because it didn't appear at the top of the list of book options that comes up. Once I started reading it, I knew for sure I'd read it before. Turns out, the Library Thing search engine pulls up the book, but it is the fifth option on the page. The books listed higher up don't resemble the title at all. Zeige 4 von 4 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

HTML: Gear up for an all-the-feels, steamy slow-burn in this enemies-to-lovers sports romance about fighting for love when life's taught you it's a losing game. Gavin We've been teammates for two years, but it feels like a lifetime that Oliver Bergman's been on my last nerve. A demanding captain and veteran player, I'm feared and friendless, while he's the beloved rising star, all sunshine smiles and upbeat team spirit. To make matters worse, he's obscenely attractive. In short: he's genetically designed to get under my skin. Avoiding Oliver has been my survival tactic on and off the field. But when Coach drops the bomb that we're now co-captains, avoiding him becomes impossible, and keeping the truth from him??let alone my distance??is harder than ever. Oliver Life was great until soccer legend Gavin Hayes joined the team and proved he's nothing like the guy I grew up idolizing. Instead, he's a giant??albeit gorgeous??grump who lives to rain on my parade. I've sworn off pranks since entering the public eye, so rather than settle our differences the Bergman way, I've had to settle for killing Gavin with kindness. There's just one problem: killing him with kindness is killing me. To make matters worse, Coach gives us an ultimatum: put an end to our enmity or say goodbye to being captains. I'm prepared to be miserable while we meet her demands and make nice, but the last thing I expect is to discover an explosive attraction we can't help but act on, and worse yet, to realize the man hiding beneath Gavin's gruff exterior is all I've ever wanted. High 2 for totally ripping off Ted Lasso (acknowledgement at end not enough to excuse that).
Low 3 for being the spicy tale about Ragnarok’s goofy Thor and a “beary” big Roy Kent. (
