It definitely picks up the story from book 4. There is some intrigue, good guys and bad guys. There is also the recurring art collector, and well connected in the underworld miscreant, Miles Faulkner. This time, however, in the story is the added character of Princess Diana. What happens to all of these characters is something that needs to be read about in this book. Four stars were awarded in this review for Next in Line. I was so pleased that there was an interview with Archer at the end of the book, telling a little about his source of material. I'm just amazed at how many "events" can happen within one book but they all relate to each other with this fascinating group of characters. Wonderful that Archer keeps producing these thrillers so quickly! As others have said, hard to wait for the next one!! In the latest William Warwick, he and his team are given an opportunity to be part of the Royalty Protection team, with Ross as a guard for the Princess of Wales, Diana. Due to this assignment, Ross is unable to care for his daughter, Jojo, and William and his wife, Beth, agree to bring her to their home and raise her along with the twins. Meanwhile Beth continues to work at the museum, curating art. However, when a new director is named, there is tension between them, and Beth feels unappreciated. Her friend, Christina is back, as well as Miles Faulkner and his lawyer, Booth Watson. This novel tackles art and terrorism, as well as family. Jeffrey Archer shines again in all the detail and tension in the novel. Excellent new book from Jeffrey Archer! Next in Line is filled with twists, turns and multiple storylines running smoothly together throughout the novel. True to his usual style, his writing and characters are complex while sharing insider British information with the reader. The book moves along easily while engaging the reader with the various characters including London itself a starring role.
