I went into this book with zero idea of what it was about. It was dark and twisty in all the ways that kept me invested. It was one of those books that once you started... you had no choice but to finish to see how things were going to play out, and just exactly what had happened. Sawyer is a sarcastic, resourceful and strong character who actually feels bad about doing what it takes to survive. She's on the run and to make her way she steals the identities of men that she sleeps with. Enter Enzo, the dark broody man, who works with sharks. Once he learns what Sawyer has done he is out for revenge. And that revenge lands them in a predicament that is much worse.

I think these two had excellent tension and chemistry it was a gradual shift in their relationship, but also a very precarious shift, which the author does an amazing job of highlighting. The lighthouse and Sylvester was a whole extra level of twisty that I wasn't anticipating in this book. It was dark and I spent the whole time needing to know what was actually going on with the lighthouse keeper. It is the lighthouse dynamic, with forced proximity and only one bed, that really forces Enzo and Sawyer to confront their love/hate feelings for one another, all while being terrorized by Sylvester. I really enjoyed this book and the characters. I have to say I was shocked a couple of times by the revelations in this one. ( )

I finished this in one day and could not put it down! It’s the perfect amount of spice and thriller! I love these two and how they really don’t go together at all but they work. This is the first book in a long time that I didn’t find the girl boring, Sawyer is a bit weird, complicated and very funny.

I could do without the water boarding during sex and having sex in a shark cage and why was he always wanting to touch her teeth? ( )
