Across the country, masked men are murdering the children and wives of several other prominent Washington, DC, officials at that exact moment. While the President and his wife mourn the death of their son, Modeus and his followers turn up the pressure, unleashing unprecedented acts of violence and terrorism throughout the land. As the nation is left reeling in the wake of the murderous violence, President Lehman attempts to lead his people while simultaneously confronting his own faltering faith and failing convictions. With his trusted Secret Service agents by his side, he steals away to a hidden mountaintop retreat, hoping that the beauty and peace will give him the clarity he needs to move the country forward.
