I liked the style of interludes between the author and the subject alternating with the author's research. And it was quite compelling to keep reading, to find out what would be learned next. It's a bit sad that it's not more conclusive, but I guess that what happens with books based on archival research and interviews, where both the documents and the people have a motivation to tell things in a way that's not necessarily complete.
