I liked this better than my GR friends. Beautiful, young Amelia Faraday is plagued with horrifying premonitions of murder that seem to come true. Adopted, with no memory of her childhood, she is being counseled by therapist Karen, who bonds with her because she reminds her of another young woman she had not been able to help. Amelia seems to lose time during these murders, making her a likely suspect. Karen believes in her innocence despite mounting evidence, and eventually Karen and Amelia's grieving uncle team up to unravel the senseless deaths of Amelia's foster parents and aunt as well as the haunting cases of a number of young women, who have disappeared over the years. Suspenseful. ( )

Amelia Faraday is an attractive young woman who has much to be thankful for but remains troubled by vague and disturbing emotional complaints. Her life is changed forever when her adopted parents and aunt are brutally and inexplicably murdered. At first it appears to be a case of murder-suicide, yet Amelia has vivid memories of committing the murders. To make matters worse, her phantom recollections closely coincide with what is found at the crime scene.

"Left For Dead"was very good. "One Last Scream" was okay. If the next one is some where in between, I'll be happy. Kevin O'Brien seems to be a pretty dependable author. Hey, if Tess Gerritsen can recommend it, how bad can it be? Of course she's probably never read the book. ( )

While the author did a decent job of keeping his story suspenseful (especially at the end), he revealed way too much too early on for the "surprise plot-twist" to be much of a surprise at all. That mis-step combined with a plot that was prone to gaping holes and obvious contrivances made this book just an ok read for me. Right now I'm on the fence about whether to give another of his books a try. ( )

Eleven years ago twelve women vanished without a trace and their whereabouts are still a mystery.

Amelia Faraday suffers from blackouts, so when she has a vision of something terrible happening to her adopted parents and her aunt she can’t help but feel that she may somehow be responsible for their deaths and the deaths of others.

It seems like the deaths of her parents and her aunt was a murder–suicide case but that all changes when Amelia sees herself killing everyone in exactly the same way they were found.

Amelia’s therapist, Karen Carlisle does not believe that Amelia could be capable of murder. As time passes, Amelia’s behavior starts getting more and more bizarre, Karen and Amelia’s uncle decide to investigate Amelia’s past and what they find is more than they bargained for.

Could Amelia be a cold-blooded killer or a pawn in a deadly game?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Even though I figured out the true identity of the killer about 3/4 of the way I was not disappointed by how it ended.

This book is highly recommended ( )
