I loved every minute of it. I love how Tori wanted to keep her old life but fell in love with a T-FLAC man! It is a must read! ( )

Marc is a burned out mercenary, beating himself up for years and hiding out on his ranch. When his best friend comes to him to join a mission and he refuses only later to find out his friend died only makes his guild worse. Tory is Alex's sister and she knows he isn't dead and Marc is the only one who can get him out alive. I liked most of the story but Marc is a real ass sometimes and her ability to see why he's being an ass is nothing short of miraculous.

Mercenary by Cherry Adair

Romantic suspense. First in the T-FLAC series.
Strong and smart heroine. Victoria Jones keeps telling herself and Marc that she’s a coward. Then she travels on her own out of the country to find her brother. She fights and plows her way through situations, one after another doing the exact opposite of being a coward. She may be scared, but it doesn’t stop her from stepping up and mastering the problem.

I really enjoyed this book. I listened to the audio version. It starts out with music in the background, which was new to me, but it only plays for the first 30 seconds or so. The female narrator did a good job with the various roles including a few foreign words. ( )

Synopsis:
In order to rescue her brother from terrorists, Victoria Jones needs a hero and Marc Savin is just the man she is looking for. Marc, a former member of T-FLAC, is in no mood to help Victoria but he owes her brother and reluctantly agrees. The two soon find themselves fighting not only their enemies but their attraction to each other as well.

Review:
This is the revised version of the original Harlequin addition but from what I can gather there are few differences. Regardless, this is a quick, light, entertaining and romantic read.

The plot is neither spectacular nor original but the characters more than make up for it. Tory is a lovable and self-deprecating dynamo. Despite her own reservations about her abilities, she has an amazing courage and resilience. Marc is a typical alpha male hero and I really enjoyed the way he falls so hard for someone he believes is “not his type”. Their chemistry sizzles.

Adair’s writing is smooth and the dialogue never feels forced or lame as it often does in this type of story. This is a great beginning to the series and I look forward to reading more of them. ( )
