A cute book to introduce very young readers to rebuses. The book is a poem in rebus format and each page contains two sentences that rhyme with the next page. Kids will have fun figuring out what word the images are conveying, and matching the rhymes. ( )

This book by Jean Marzollo is a great rebus poem book. It challenges children to put together pictures in order to complete the sentence. There is a picture on the right side of the page and the sentence the reader must finish on the left side.

This is one of our favorites!! Very simple even non-readers can read it, and they feel so proud.
It goes "Every (picture of a bird, loves a (picture of a tree), "every etc etc loves etc etc, and (picture of an eye) (picture of a heart) (picture of U)" I have listened to my grandkids read it hundreds of times starting around 3 years old. ( )

This is a rebus poem which contains illustrations in the place of some words. The other words are repetitive, which allows young students to be involved in reading this story. This book could be used to discuss things that go together and rhyming words. ( )
