This is a new approach to teach Chinese as a foreign language and is designed for primary school students as total beginners to learn it. The focus is to build strong foundation of mastering pin yin and tones through listening to lively rhymes, pictures, and story telling. The topics include such common routines as greetings, classroom language, numbers and dates, colors and clothing, house and rooms, and animals. Also taking into account that, unlike European languages, Chinese characters are independent of their pronunciation, after studying this series of four volumes, a student will be able to write from memory about 100 simple Chinese characters and can recognize over 500 of them.
