Book for students who can read but are trying to transition to harder chapter books. Fly guy is buzz best friend. They play hide and seek together, until fly guy gets stuck in a garbage can heading to the dump. Buzz follows the truck to save fly guy, and eventually does.

I would recommend this book to students at an intermediate level. This book is about a young boy named Buzz and his pet, Fly, who plays hide and seek. The fly ends up hiding in a garbage can just as the garbage man comes by and takes it away. Buzz and his father chase the garbage truck all the way to the town dump, where they find a "zillion" of flies. At first, Buzz is sad because he thinks he has lost his pet forever, but he remembers that they were playing hide and seek and tells his pet fly that he has given up. Then, his pet fly shows up, and they go back home. This book would be great to have in my classroom, especially for students that are just starting to read chapter books. ( )
