It takes place in North Pole, Alaska and the author does a great job of making one want to visit this place. Samantha Sinclair travels across the country to land a job in this town as a chef, but when she arrives the job has been given to someone else. So she stays in town and settles for a job at a Christmas Boutique store, run by former marine, Bryce Stone. Bryce isn't all that happy to be in a town that celebrates the Christmas season all year long but is thankful to find someone to run the store so he doesn't have to and so his Aunt Olive can retire. "Sam" is a spunky lady, who can handle most anything Bryce throws at her (after all she grew up with older brothers). These two will entertain you with their interaction and likability. It was just an all round enjoyable story to read, especially during this Christmas season. Now, I won't say this is the worst book I've ever read, but it was truly dreadful. The only good thing I can say about it is that the location had promise. Other than that, there was nothing redeeming. The plot was stale, the dialog was absurd, the characters were ridiculous. It was just awful. I so wish I had listed to Nancy Pearl on this one and given up on page 50. What a waste of time. Ugh. While this book was well written, it was the 'same old same old' as far as the "Love Finds You in..." series. Bryce Stone is a tough Marine who lost an eye in Afghanistan. He has returned home to North Pole, Alaska very bitter and determined never to fall in love again. The woman he loved decided she would rather give her life to the Marine Corps instead of Bryce. Sam loves Christmas and sees it as a sign from God when the town of North Pole, Alaska keeps turning up on television or magazines. She buys an RV and heads out to the town where it is always Christmas, and a job as a chef in a local restaurant. Arriving in North Pole she discovers that the owner of the restaurant gave her job to his nephew. She winds up working for Byce in the store his parents owned. There isn't much give and take between the two characters, one minute they don't know each other and the next they are in love. Zeige 4 von 4 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
