This book is about math! I love tying other subjects into reading to get the other subjects meaning, as well as math more meaning. ( )

Synopsis: This story takes the reader through a counting journey as one little Monster’s birthday party gets very crowded. Ages 3-8.

Response: This book is ideal for younger children, or children struggling with skip counting by 5s and 10s. The book’s rhyme and rhythm make it an easy, enjoyable read that could easily become a class favorite. ( )

The little monsters in this book are having a party for their friends so the story starts out with the concept of adding. Then eventually when the monsters start leaving the party, the story moves to the concept of subtraction. This book is great for younger students to review their addition and subtraction skills.
