A meandering reflection, something like a memoir. I've been studying and practicing Buddhism for a long time, but this is my first introduction to the Jodo Shinshu approach. It was very good for that, I think. Well, there is no bibliography... so, where do I go from here? I'll have to wait for the other power to blow in my direction! Ah, maybe it's not a matter of waiting, but more like allowing. Yeah I would say this book dips its toes in some deep water, but never really dives in. In a way it's frustrating, tasting rather than chewing and digesting. But yeah, probably the essence of Buddhism is selflessness, and perhaps that sort of intellectual possession is not really the way to be selfless!… (mehr)
