- After graduating from Stanford University with a degree in English Literature, Jami Alden's writing appeared in many software marketing brochures and corporate web sites. But she quickly realized writing romance was a lot more fun. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her socially well adjusted alpha male husband, her son, and two dogs that patiently listen to dialogue and help her work out plot points. When she's not writing sexy romance, she enjoys running, reading, yoga and a borderline unhealthy love of the Food Network.

I may have found my next favorite romantic suspense author. I couldn't turn the pages of this book fast enough. Very well written and pretty well plotted. The characters were believable and their relationship seemed real. I am looking forward to reading about the other 2 brothers. For once I was okay with reading about a spoiled rich girl. She seemed very real charming and vulnerable. Just a quick review. I'll try to fill this out later.
I read this for Sunny's story, "China Doll," which was fairly enjoyable, if dragged a little longer than I really wanted to read. Jami Alden's "Tempted" was also engaging---fun and breezy, a perfect introduction to the anthology just as Sunny's story was the perfect end. But Valerie Martinez's story...well, bizarre is probably the best way to describe it.
More about lust than love---an odd fit, considering the other two stories in the collection---it reads less like a romance and more like some of the final projects I encountered while completing my degree in English writing. It overflows with irrelevant descriptors, features a heroine who exists more to present a window into an ethnicity rather than into a woman's heart, and wanders with distressing regularity into peculiar statements like, "It would make me drink too much because I couldn't trust the feeling of being this alive." What? Perhaps Ms Martinez's Creative writing degree from Barnard College is the problem, but I can't help feeling she'd be better off writing contemporary fiction or memoir about the Chicano experience than erotic romance.… (mehr)

This story was similar to Beg for Mercy and Hide from Evil. The story of Talia and Jack is about loss, obsession, and murder. The serial killer is the copycat of the killer from Beg for Mercy, but is out to prove he is better by finally killing Talia Vega. His intense desire for perfection in his attempt at finishing the work of the original is his undoing. There was a balance between romance, sensuality, and suspense. A good story for a Sunday afternoon.
