Snare my Heart is the 2nd book from Kristine Allen's Straight Wicked series. It's been on my tbr for awhile now and I finally got around to it and I wish I wouldn't have waited so long. This book was awesome. It's about Dominic Salvatore who is a veteran turned drummer with him military buddies who formed the group Straight Wicked. They are now the hottest rock band around and headlining their first tour. Dominic is your typical rock star. He's all about playing, drinking, and groupies. He's used to taking a different girl every night cause he swears he will never settle down because he's afraid he's like his father. But as you'll see in the book he's nothing like his father that abandoned his mother and him. At one of his concerts he meets a girl that doesn't fall at his feet like he's used to so like a typical guy he won't give up the chase cause how can anybody not want him. Autumn doesn't even know who he is and thinks he's some roadie. Dominic found this very interesting and decided to see where it goes. Needless to say he got what he wanted when he took her home that night and got more than he bargained for. Autumn has a complicated life all her own. She's known since she was a small child that she was to be married when she turned 25 to Gabriel De Luca, the son of the biggest mob boss in Chicago. So when she met Dominic and was attracted to him, she decided to throw caution to the wind cause she would never see him again, he didn't live there so no one would be able to tell her father. After the night they shared together neither could stop thinking of the other. Dominic even stopped sleeping with random women cause none of them were Autumn. When he got home for Thanksgiving break that's when his life changed completely and for the better if you ask me. He found out he had a little brother named Elijah who his father also abandoned . And at the same time Autumn found out she was pregnant and her friend told Dominic in the worst way. He always said he never wanted children but when he found out he couldn't imagine not having that child and Autumn. So he found a way to trap her temporarily hoping to make it permanent. The more time they spent together the more they didn't want to leave each other. But when Autumn's father finds out all hell breaks loose and Dominic's family secrets come out that actually help him get Autumn.
This book was a really great read with a few twisted and unexpected events. I'm used to reading Kristine Allen's MC series so I was a little skeptical when I saw she made a rock star series. But I loved it. There are even a few crossovers with the Demented Sons MC. I love how she ties all her series together in some way with crossovers from characters. It can be read as a standalone and has some triggers. I recommend starting with the 1st book in the series so you have the full picture of all the characters. Next up in the series is Logan and I believe that one will be deep and just as good as this one.… (mehr)

This was one hell of a way to start a new chapter for the Royal Bastards! If you've read Kristine Allens other chapter in the series than you know all those alpha boys have a little something extra. I won't give away what Raptor has but it's a good one. Raptor has been through alot in his life and like most men ran from his past when it broke him. He ended up with the Ankeny chapter in Iowa far from his home in Texas and his family, with good reason to leave to. While in Iowa he meets Cookie when she comes to the club to be a clubwhore at 17. He found out her age and stayed away from her for longer than I think any man could considering he had an instant connection to her. Eventually he gave in and then was the biggest ass you can imagine. I still don't know how she could ever forgive what he did so easily to her but I guess love is love. Cookie gets herself in a couple situations and the club thinks it's best to get her out of town and sends her to Raptor in Texas without him knowing. To say he was pissed and happy at the same time would be an understatement. The trouble of course follows her but Raptor and his new chapter and family protect her. While in Texas Raptor learns he should have confronted his past he ran from alot sooner than he was for many different reasons. This book leaves off on a cliffhanger of sorts but overall it was a great start to a new chapter and I can't wait to see what she does with the new boys and what their something extras will be. I loved this paranormal take on the Royal Bastards MC world. Jude and his brothers all have supernatural gifts and they work to right wrongs, while still being bad assed bikers. Toss in a second chance at the love of his life, fighting corruption, rescuing the kidnapped, taking down the bad guys and you have everything for a great MC romance.
