Wrapped-up Foxtrot : a treasury with the final… von Bill Amend
Always been a fan but hadn't had a chance to get caught up for a long time. More fun with the Foxes!
The first strips of FoxTrot, which is a strip I dearly love. Most likely because I know what it's like to live in a sitcom. The characters are so well drawn (both physically and with consistent characterization), it's full of jokes about the genre and being a comic artist, and the humor is cute rather than mean. I still re-read this volume and the others I own every few years.
How I love the Fox family, and having Bill Amend's side notes to some of the strips was a treat.
This book offers a good collection of daily strips of Bill Amend's "Foxtrot" series. I found it pretty amusing... not laugh-out-loud funny, but with sufficiently fresh ideas to keep me reading.
In one storyline, Jason and Marcus go to science summer camp, and are outwitted by Eileen and Phoebe, with whom they eventually become friends. In another, Jason does clever parodies of other popular cartoons of the day -- "Cathy", "Hagar the Horrible", Doonesbury", and "Dilbert".
As with most cartoon books, this one is best read in small doses. Though none too familiar with the FoxTrot strip, I enjoyed this collection. No doubt, fans of FoxTrot will as well.… (mehr)
