What a fun read! Even my husband has been caught reading this book, which reads like a novel. All the new innovations of the last century are included. Of course, Campbell soup was one of those, making the American cook think like a French expert. The work necessary to put this together must have been tremendous.
Of course I didn't read every word. ?áBut I did examine every recipe. ?áAnd almost all could be made just as well by hand. ?áI have a barely broken in food processor (attachment to my also barely broken in stand mixer) and I'm having a bugger of a time finding things to cook / reasons to use either appliance. ?áLots of salads and lots of whipped cream?
I did get more than 1/2 doz. recipes from here that I do want to try. ?áThat's pretty good, for me, for a cookbook from the library. ?áMost of them I'll probably make by hand, though....… (mehr)
