- Born in San Francisco, Kimberley Anglesey's youth was spent a
barefoot waif on the beaches of California and there she
developed her love of the sea. In the custom of the Seanchaí,
Kimberley's Irish grandmother taught her to love stories of the
forgotten past, filled with legend and folklore, mythology and
fantasy. Reading and writing have been a lifelong passion.
Striving earnestly to spin a good yarn and carry on the family
tradition, she often writes into the wee hours of the night. Also
a photographer and avid nature lover, Kimberley currently lives with her family in Idaho.

A very intriguing book about mermaids. Helps to clear up some of the myths and hype about them. The book shows a new slant about how they are basically Amazon warriors, at least most of the mers in the book are. Quite a good story with typical US Military cover ups and deceptions. The story ends quite abruptly to allow for a sequel. I am looking forward to that.

Fresh slant on military thriller, light on the military and accent on the thriller. Mermaids would be the ultimate underwater spy system. Great blend of characters. The book closes with open ended sub plots which make the sequel a must have book. Is it out yet?

Mer Si Raen - Ambush by Kimberley Anglesey is awesome! An excellent blend of fact and mythology. I just finished this morning and I can't wait for the sequel. The story felt entirely fresh, a tough task for a classic theme, very well woven.

This is the first time I have read about mermaids in this fantasy genre.
Creative talent and thought plus research really went into this book. Learning facts about the legendary Mer people and how the government has put together a military to open a case of these magnificent myths. This book has all the right ingredients for an adventure that promises you will not be disappointed.
