Jim Arnholz (–2022)

Jim was an award-winning columnist for the Albuquerque Journal for 28 years. After his retirement from the Journal in 2009, he wrote a column for the Guadalupe County Communicator in Santa Rosa, NM for another eight years. Over the years, Jim received many accolades for his writing. His awards included the Distinguished Graduate Award from the University of New Mexico, the ACLU First Amendment Award, the Anti-Defamation League Journalism Award, many New Mexico Press Association Awards, as well Albuquerque People's Choice Awards. He authored three non-fiction books: two collections of his columns (Semi-Native and Coyote in the Front Yard) and one about a dying young doctor (Closing the Chart) as well as an award-winning play (Just a Song at Twilight).
