A book of reference for the architect, sculptor, decorative artist, and practical painter.
Always remembering that this is from the late 19th century, the plates are very useful, the introductory materials even more so. The difference between this and other similar books is that the plates are ordered by type, so you can easily see how the different cultures dealt with the same design questions.
A great resource book of Victorian adaptations of mediaeval style
